Dara and Ed’s Great Big Adventure (RTE One, 10.15pm) 

Over the past few weeks, Ed Byrne and Dara O’Briain have been travelling across the Americas and becoming acquainted with everything from Mexican wrestling to volcano boarding. Tonight marks the end of their 4,000-mile journey and sees the pair travel through Costa Rica and Panama. ‘Tis far from Costa Rica either of them were raised, but we’ll leave them off.

Don’t Tell The Bride (RTÉ Two, 9pm)

The only thing more entertaining than watching men try organise a wedding is watching hapless Irish men try organise their own weddings. In last week’s episode, the groom literally spray-painted brown boots white, and tried to fob them off as wedding shoes. The cheek! Tune in tonight to find out whether or not these lows will be reached once more.

Banished (BBC Two, 9pm)

The latest period drama to grace our television screens follows the first British convicts sent to Australia in the eighteenth century. Created by writer Jimmy McGovern, it promises to be epic in the best sense. #banished

Everyone’s talking about… American Crime

It’s the new series written by 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley. It stars Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton as a divorced couple whose son is murdered. The show debuted in the United States on Tuesday and garnered universal acclaim.

Time called it “gripping” and The Hollywood Reporter praised its ambition.

The buzzy series starts on RTÉ Two next Sunday.
